This past year presented so many different challenges and obstacles that tested our strength and resiliency on both a personal and community level. The global pandemic and civil injustices forced us to cope with situations we never even imagined, and lot of us struggled (and are continuing to struggle) with our mental health as a result. The good news is that through SAFFP classes and programs, and other tools and resources available- we can help ourselves and our community thrive through wellness.
Now, more than ever, we need to combat the stigma surrounding mental health concerns. That’s why this Mental Health Month SAFFP is highlighting #Tools2Thrive- offering real tips and solutions for what you can do throughout your daily life to prioritize mental health, build resiliency, and continue to cope with our global and local obstacles.
As a member or guest at our facility, you will find easily accessible information highlighting the #Tools2Thrive toolkit. You can also download the entire toolkit by visiting www.mhanational.org/may.
SAFFP is also highlighting the importance of fitness when it comes to your overall wellness. We want to remind our community that we offer over 450+ live and virtual fitness classes and small group training sessions that will help you thrive through wellness at a very low cost. Some members of our community may even qualify for a free gym membership where many of the 450+ classes are included.
A great starting point for any new member, current member, or even guest who is ready to start prioritizing their fitness and wellness is to schedule a Starting Point Session. This unique session focuses entirely on your fitness goals and your health- allowing our Fitness Team to build you a custom fitness plan. This custom plan is an important addition to other mental and physical health resources. There is never a cost to these Starting Point Sessions. We want every member in our community to receive the fitness and wellness guidance and support that they deserve no matter what financial situation they may be experiencing.
Ultimately, during this month of May, SAFFP wants to remind everyone that you are capable of thriving in every aspect of your life and that focusing on your whole wellness is often a key piece. By developing your own #Tools2Thrive toolkit with the resources available at SAFFP and Mental Health America- it is possible to find a balance between life’s ups and downs.
We encourage you to get involved, even if you're not a member, by filling out a Thriving Through Wellness card online. SAFFP is sharing these cards at our facility with other members and guests. Who knows? You may just end up being an inspiration to another person in need.
